The Woman In The Mirror

I am sleepy… but Awake.

It is Morning.  It is Night.

It is Any Hour.  It is Every Hour.

Never Early.  Never Late.

You are Always On Time.

I look in The Mirror.

I am wrinkled.  I am Wise.

I am flawed.  I am Forgiven.

I am Beautiful in Your Sight.

A Living, Breathing, Walking, Worshiping Miracle of Possibility.

I see my skin.  You see my heart.

My heart is torn.  You sew me together.

My heart gets sick.  You heal me.

My heart breaks.  You are my Glue.

My heart grieves.  You comfort me.

My eyes are fuzzy.  You focus my Sight.

Sight to My Soul.  Sight from My Soul.

My lips are silent.  You give me Words.

You are The Word.

The Last Word.  The First Word.

The Best Word.  The Only Word.

My hair is grey.  Each strand A Story.

You know each one.  You count each one.

You catch each one… even when they fall.

I am bald.  You cover me.

My ears are deaf.  The world is noisy.

You whisper… and I hear.

I am lost.  You find me.

I am empty.  You fill me.

I am yearning.  I am Yours.

Then.  Now.

Always.  Forever.

“The Lord appeared to [me]…in the [mirror], saying:  I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.  I will build you up again.. and you will… dance with the joyful.”  (Jeremiah 31:3-4)

I am ready now… for Today.

Shall we dance, Beloved?
