Sitting Around The Campfire

Three campfires have been blazing recently.  In my own life and/or the lives of those I love. The first is a global campfire.  Tens of thousands around the world gather every morning to listen to Your Word, Lord… and to pray for each other.  Who would have ever imagined that technology — a cell phone

Micro-Miracles!

No one can deny a “Macro-Miracle” like the parting of the Red Sea, Lord. When Your people were on the verge of destruction.  Backed up against an impenetrable barrier — the Red Sea — with the Egyptian army bearing down on them.  Until You penetrated what was otherwise impenetrable.  And they moved across on dry

Closing the Distance

When was I close enough to touch Your face yesterday, Lord? When I listened to Your Word in the predawn darkness, receiving it — and You, its Author — so gratefully? “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  (John 1:1) When I petted my husband’s

Making the Crooked Straight

Artistic asymmetry is one thing.  Having things not perfectly aligned can give a photograph or a painting real visual interest.  Beauty of another kind. Not the same with teeth. My lower teeth have been misaligned for decades… severely so.  Or, at least, that’s how it’s beginning to seem to me. I inherited this from my

Strangers in The Night

I just heard an instrumental version of the beautiful classic by that name, Lord.  I hadn’t heard the words in many years… but they came right back to me. And all I could think of was You! “Strangers in the night…”   Isn’t that how it always is, Lord?  Whenever any one of us truly

The Regret of Missed Opportunities

I hadn’t seen my Forever Sister in… more than a year?  She lives far away.  Even spends time in distant countries. I had hoped to see her over the weekend, Lord.  I thought she would be at a particular venue where her husband was speaking. I wasn’t sure until the last minute that I would be able

The Debt of Love

It was an unexpected reunion. At the timing You chose, Lord.  Because You caused us to cross paths again.  Literally.  Right there on the street.  A brother and sister-in-Christ.  Forever Family. We love each other dearly.  Yet… we now walk separate paths.  I used to sit under his teaching.  Until I began to feel… uneasy.

What Is It Worth???

Funny how the mind wanders when I’m fishing, Lord… especially when I’m also catching!   🙂 Like today… A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. A worm in the can is worth two in the land. A fish in the pan is worth two in the lake. A shell in the

Mirror, Mirror on The… Lake!

It was breathtaking, Lord!  My view of our lake this morning! Technically, Your lake.   🙂   But I am oh-so-grateful to see it outside of our house!  It looked like a photograph.  I could even see the leaves on trees, etched with crystal clarity in the still water. It reminded me of other mirrors, Lord.

The Whole Truth… and Nothing But?

“Do you swear to tell The Truth, the Whole Truth and nothing but The Truth… so help you, God?” “So help me, God.” It’s what witnesses swear whenever they take the stand in any courtroom.  Where the stakes are significant.  Where their testimony can lead others to a conclusion that can mean Conviction.  Or not. Win or Lose.
