My career began out of necessity, at age 14, after my parents had lost almost everything. But my story – my secrets – began even earlier. I ventured into uncharted, sometimes treacherous, territory… guided by the unseen Hand of an unknown God. All of that changed in my 30’s, when I fell in love with Jesus after He literally saved my life… again.
My career as a businesswoman now spans 35+ years. I consider my “credentials” in the world’s eyes to be gifts from God, some coming long before I knew Him. I have been an executive in large corporations, an owner/principal in several consulting firms focusing on leadership and organizational development, and a founder and Executive Director of a Christian medical facility that provides much-needed care to those who would otherwise do without. For a glimpse into my career and professional achievements, I have included some details below (for those who still like to read resumes)!
My formal education includes an MBA, Master’s-level seminary studies in Christian Counseling and Discipleship and more. I co-authored a reference book for HR professionals entitled Total Quality in Managing Human Resources. I am a Certified Christian Life Coach (American Association of Christian Counselors), a Licensed Facilitator of Identity and Destiny, and certified in DISC Behavioral Analysis.
More importantly, I am – by God’s Grace – a woman who has not only survived many of life’s bleakest wildernesses, but one who has emerged from them to thrive… sometimes, against all odds. The Lord has encountered me in unmistakable and irresistible ways, and taken me where it was “impossible” to go on my own.
Now, as an author, speaker and Christian Life Coach, I have a passion for helping women of influence pursue their own life-changing encounters with the Lord who loves them – so they, too, can discover His “sweet spot” for them and live it with passion… finding their wings and daring to soar!

Some “highlights” about my professional background…
I was privileged to serve as the founder and first Executive Director of Samaritan’s Touch Care Center (STCC) – a Christian not-for-profit medical facility offering high quality, comprehensive primary and specialized medical care, at no charge, to uninsured, financially-struggling families in Highlands County, Florida, a rural and significantly impoverished area. Thanks to the generosity of many volunteer physicians, other health care providers, and the local community – STCC provided over $10 million in donated medical care in its first 3.5 years of operation, through over 22,000 patient visits (not including comprehensive cancer care donated by Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa to scores of needy patients). In that same period, STCC was credited with saving local hospitals some $14.5 million in emergency room costs that were avoided because patients had access to high quality primary care in a more cost-effective freestanding clinic. STCC and its physicians also earned distinction from the Florida Academy of Family Physicians when they were designated as a Center of Office Practice Excellence and as Diabetes Master Clinicians for their successful treatment of patients with diabetes. Most importantly, thanks to this high quality medical care and the spiritual care that supported it – all offered in love – hundreds of patients received Jesus as their Savior!
Reporting to the Christian Owner/CEO of a privately-held, 100-employee regional leader in the air conditioning industry, I created and mobilized an innovative “Comfort Care” Division to help realize the Owner’s vision to eternally impact his corporate sphere of influence by offering “spiritual comfort” and corporate chaplaincy to his employees, customers and vendors.
I became the first female Chairman for the national franchise, The C12 Group, launching and leading an executive roundtable of Christian business owners in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington DC. As an executive coach to Christian business owners and CEO’s, I supported their growth in doing business “God’s way,” on the basis of sound biblical principles, and in positioning and mobilizing their business to be a platform for Christian ministry in the marketplace, with eternal impact in the “mission field” represented by their employees, customers, vendors and communities.
As Brand Manager at McCormick, the #1 spice company in the world, I had profit & loss responsibility for various business lines totaling $85 million in sales. There, I became affectionately known as “The Chicken Lady” for mobilizing and leading the development and national launch of a line of Chicken Sauce Blends, for which I received a C.P. McCormick Gold Award for new product development and launch success. I inspired a national sales force to give special attention to these five new products (within their 500-product portfolio), resulting in sales of $15 million in their first 18 months on the market and a subsequent 20-year market presence. I further inspired manufacturing line workers to “adopt” this new product line, taking personal responsibility to drive hundreds of thousands of dollars to bottom-line profitability through increased production efficiencies and decreased waste. I also served on McCormick’s Multiple Management Board.
Within two years of starting “at the bottom” as a Training Specialist in the Training and Development department at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, I was invited by the company President to become one of the first female Directors there. As Director of Personnel for this 3,100-employee company, I was given the charge of “turning around” this largely ineffectual HR department. Though responsible for all company employment, hiring, management assessment and executive recruitment functions, the existing team consisted of under-performing and/or burned out individual contributors who suffered from low morale and poor credibility, and were on the verge of quitting or being fired. Building on proven leadership strategies I had demonstrated as Manager of Organization Development and on relationships of trust I had developed with division leaders companywide, I coached my team members to become high-performers and results-producers who were respected by their internal clients. Many then rightfully earned a reputation as “high potentials” and were later promoted to more senior company positions. My other accomplishments included the design and implementation of: the company’s first comprehensive management/supervisory development program; a two-way employee communication program, and interdepartmental team building to help strengthen business results.
