This morning, as I lay wide awake in the darkness before dawn, I wondered: “How would You like me to come into Your presence today, Lord?” I began to whisper my love and gratitude into Your ever-attentive ear.
There’s an expression in our culture. Tender expressions of love between lovers are sometimes called “Sweet Nothings.” But what I whispered to You this morning, Lord, would be better called “Sweet Everythings.”
Is that because You are everything to me, Lord? Or because everything about You is so opposite to the concept of “nothing”?
You are my “Always… No Matter What” God!
The One who always loves me… no matter what.
The One who always faithfully, persistently, relentlessly pursues me… no matter what.
You are always with me — and for me– no matter what.
You are always in control… no matter what chaos seems to “reign” around me.
You are always speaking to me… no matter what deafness may be blocking my hearing.
You are always ready to pick me up… no matter what has tripped me up.
You are always eager to run to me… no matter what direction I am running.
You are always good… no matter what the enemy whispers to the contrary.
You are always The Truth That Will Set Me Free… no matter what lies still hold me captive.
You are always strong… no matter what weakness overwhelms me.
You are always able… no matter what “impossibility” I face.
You are always victorious… no matter what battles remain to be fought.
Always… no matter what.
Such beautiful words, Lord! Such priceless truths!
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
“[Love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (1 Corinthians 13:7)
Thank You, Lord, for always keeping my life rich and my future secure… no matter what.
