10,000 SOLUTIONS! – Part I

Was it just yesterday, Lord, that the number 10,000 was so much on my mind?

And my body???   🙂

I had no sooner uploaded my blog, “10,000 TONS,” when I had to do a double-take.  I had turned to the devotional guiding my 40-day season of prayer and fasting… and read this quote by A.W. Tozer:

“A low view of God is the cause of a hundred lesser evils.  A high view of God is the solution to 10,000 temporal problems.”

Coincidence???  You have proven to me so often that such a thing does not exist!   🙂

I have been heavily burdened of late by the state of the Church.  Yes, Your Church in general, Lord.  But also, our little local church here that is struggling so.  And I have been greatly lifted by the personal encouragements You have been sending me!

Like yesterday… just after my early-morning walk with my new friends.

I noticed the “empty” light on my dashboard.  My car needed fuel.  So I drove eight miles to the nearest gas station.  Right before I got there, I sensed Your heart prompting:

“After you fuel up, go pray around the church.”

Isn’t that the way it must be, Lord?  You are our spiritual fuel — the Bread of Life and Living Water.  And we are able to pray in Your mighty power, thanks to Your Amazing Grace.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith…”  (Ephesians 2:10)

“If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.  This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be My disciples.”  (John 15:7-8)

I had already “refueled” myself in Your Presence earlier that morning. So I refueled the car… and went to the church.

And I walked and prayed.  Seven times around, as it turned out.  Asking You to give me eyes to see and ears to hear what You wanted me to see and hear.  Asking You to prompt me to pray in the ways You wanted me to pray.

It was a bright, sunny morning.  The church and the grounds were beautiful.  No hint of anything amiss beneath the surface.

It occurred to me that such beauty can, at times, a superficial mask hiding a different reality within.  Could it not also be the promise of what is to come?

As I walked and prayed, You gave me words of LIFE and HOPE!  I spoke them over the place, the people there now, and the people who will be touched in the future.  As You, the Risen Lord, come… not just to visit, but to dwell.

What happened next took my breath away!  Or, rather, gave it back to me!!!

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”  (Hebrews 11:6)

To be continued tomorrow…
