I made the most amazing discovery today, Lord. Fresh raspberries are DELICIOUS!!!
At least the ones here on our mountain are. We have wild raspberry bushes everywhere. A few days ago, the red berries started to pop into view. I was almost reluctant to pick any. Why? Because I never liked rasberries before! They always tasted bitter to me. But these? Sweeter than honey! Fresh off the bush? AMAZING!!!
These are wild, Lord. We didn’t plant them or cultivate them. We didn’t fertilize them or prune them. We just discovered them. A surprise Gift I didn’t even realize I would want.
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights…” (James 1:17)
What’s happening, Abba? Is it because You are here in a special way? In this place You had us name Sanctuary Hill?
Is it yet another of the countless “good” things You have brought out of my fairly recent season of chemotherapy? Changing my taste buds, turning something I used to find almost nauseating into something I now find scrumptuous?
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Maybe it’s just more evidence of Your Unfailing Lovingkindness, Lord. You have already blessed my life to overflowing. Even so, You decide throw in a newfound love of raspberries… just because You can?
“May those who delight in My vindication shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, ‘The Lord be exalted, who delights in the well-being of His servant.'” (Psalm 35:27)
You are so good to me, Abba! Thank You, thank You, thank You… berry much!!! 🙂
