Shhhhhh!!! It’s a Surprise!

I LOVE secrets, Lord!

Tonight, it’s for my Honey.  Today is his birthday — one of those special milestones that make you think about the past and The Future.

Like in football.  The strategy for the Last Quarter can make or break The Game.

I’m taking my Honey out to dinner tonight.  He doesn’t know where.  He also doesn’t know a dear couple is meeting us at the restaurant.  Two friends he loves and hasn’t seen in awhile.  I can hardly wait to see the look on his face when they say, “SURPRISE!!!”

Tomorrow afternoon, another surprise is “cooking.”  A Surprise Party — with about eleven other friends descending on Sanctuary Hill.  How will I keep it a surprise tomorrow, Lord… when I have food to prepare and rooms to decorate???

No matter… The look on his face will be SO WORTH IT!!!

Maybe that’s how You feel, Jesus… about The Day we come Home to You.  The Day when we enter into Heaven.  The Day we finally see You face-to-face.  And see colors and other sights unlike any we have ever seen.  And hear sounds — heavenly music — unlike any we have ever heard.  And feel Your LOVE like we’ve never felt it before.

Is that how You are feeling, too, Lord?  Hardly able to wait until You see the look on our faces???

Just this morning, I was imagining how it will feel to be in Your arms for our very first embrace… Will I ever be able to let go???

“Look!  God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and He will dwell with them.  They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.  He will wipe every tear from their eyes.  There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”  (Revelation 21:3b-4)

Tonight, I’m saying: “Shhh!  It’s a Surprise!”

But then?  I’ll be shouting and singing and laughing at the top of my voice!!!  And You will be, too… won’t You, Lord?  With the words we all so long to hear:

Gotta run… Would You like to be the first to wish my Honey a Happy Birthday?  He’s Your Honey, too!   🙂
