Missing One Miracle!

I have been “gearing up” for Comet Sightings this week.

The last time a comet came this close to Earth was 250 years ago.  That’s one such “celestial event” in many lifetimes.  For You, Lord, that would be four such events in one day!

“With the Lord a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years are like a day.”  (2 Peter 3:8)

Then there’s the fact that there isn’t just one comet… there are two.  And the timing?  Just one day apart.  Scientists have never heard of two comets approaching this close to the Earth so close together.

Of course, “close” is a somewhat relative term.  In astronomical terms — yes, in both meanings of that word! — these comets will pass the Earth at a “closeness” of 3.3 million miles and 2.2 million miles.

The “miracle” of it is that everyone on Planet Earth will be able to spot these comets at some point on their pass-by!  IF they are looking.  And IF they know where to look.

OK, so I know most won’t even look.  But I’m looking, Lord!  And that’s the “miracle” I’m missing.

How do I figure out where to look, from where we are???  Article after article talks (in very scientific terms) about how to locate those little sky gems.  If only I spoke the particular dialect of those scientists!!!   🙂

“All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”  (Acts 2:4)

[Deep sigh.]

The likelihood of another such “celestial event” happening in my lifetime is even less than “slim to none.”  But thanks to You, Lord, this won’t be my only chance to see such wonders.  And I won’t have to scramble to beat the closing of any Window of Opportunity.

I will have all of eternity to experience any and all of Your coming Celestial Events…

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.”  (1 Corinthians 2:9)

… and all of eternity to praise You for them!!!

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”  (Psalm 19:1)

Because The Greatest Miracle of All is one I did not miss… thanks to Your Amazing Grace!

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.”  (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Thank You for Your Grace, Lord!   And for every opportunity to look up and see You

… the brightest Light in the sky!

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights…”  (James 1:17)

Starstruck…   🙂
