Sometimes…

Sometimes I feel so anointed, Lord.  Sometimes I’m running on empty. “Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength.”  (Isaiah 40:31) Sometimes I feel so fruitful.  Sometimes I fail in spades. “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”  (Philippians 1:6)

The Agenda Beneath The Agenda

Lord, what an amazing day!!!  So much to praise You and thank You for… but I begin here with what happened at the end of our session. One of our team members was leading the group of 15-year-olds.  She was “blown away” by what was revealed in her group.  She was caught unaware.   Surprised by

When The Rooster Crows…

My work began in earnest today. You have called me here, Lord, to “fight on my knees” on behalf of all who will come this week.  The 180 children.  The countless adults who will be teaching and feeding and loving those children. We all went to the Epicenter today — the school where the week-long camp will

Life in Action!!!

Precious Lord, I had already determined that, at least for today, I would not be uploading this blog. We have no international data plan, so to do so would be prohibitively expensive. Or so I thought… until someone here showed me A Way. Lord… Please let this work like she said!  (With no charges to

Bahamas, Here We Come!

The day has finally arrived! I spent today traveling from Virginia to Florida.  Tomorrow, I board a charter plane for the Bahamas.  For the next eight days we will be ministering at Your pleasure, Lord… to the 200 children You are now assembling. I can hardly wait!   🙂 Tonight, our team of 41 came

Baby Steps & Giant Leaps

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.?  True enough.  And so does the journey of a healing heart.  By Your grace, Lord, I recently took a few steps in that direction with a new friend. We were walking together, as we have on numerous occasions in the last six weeks. Talking about

Playing Spiritual Scrabble?

It took a whole year, Lord. That’s how long I’ve been a member of the professional women’s networking group You led me to join in my home-away-from-home. I attend fewer than half of the monthly meetings, because we are here less than half of the year.  When I am present, I make my 60-second intro and often

Goosebump City!!!

You welcomed us with a splash, Lord. We had come to pray.  To seek You… more of You.  In our lives.  In our church that is struggling.  It was pouring at the church.  The gully-washing, torrential kind of pouring Noah knew all too well. My two sisters were disheartened.  Disgusted, even.  But, by Your Grace,

Why Not Just Send Money?

The departure day for our eight-day mission trip is fast approaching.  Someone else is planning and coordinating the logistics of mobilizing our 41-person team from four different states to help make sure we all end up in the Right Place at the Right Time. Yikes! “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation,

All That Glitters…

It was blinding. We were on our bike ride when I saw it.  On the road… way in the distance.  A light… gleaming in the midst of shadows. I was fascinated.  What could be generating such a bright light, right on the pavement?  My fascination grew as we drew closer, because the light never wavered.  It
