“Bless the Lord, oh my soul… oh, my soul! Worship His holy name! Sing like never before, oh, my soul! Worship His holy name!”
Oh, my soul… Two hours of worshiping You, Lord. With Chris Tomlin leading the way.
Not in some stadium, with tens of thousands of people. No… In a more intimate performing arts theater. How many people, Lord? 2,000 max? Fewer?
And there he was. So close. So famous, yet so humble. So gifted. So funny. So clearly in love with You. You have given him an amazing platform. And he uses it to give You all the glory.
I had never seen him in concert before. But the tickets were expensive. I wouldn’t have purchased them. So You gave them to me! In a raffle at my women’s monthly networking group. Last month. The same day You had given me the privilege of speaking to them about GRATITUDE.
Even the raffle ticket was free!
Two tickets. I didn’t even know this was the prize. I was stunned when I won. The women cheered — all 160 of them! How fitting, they said! Indeed! How did I feel? Hmm… maybe grateful??? 🙂
At Your prompting, I shared one ticket with a dear Forever Sister. So we could worship You together.
“Bless the Lord, oh my soul…” That’s how the concert ended. The encore. With that song. Helping us remember that “10,000 Reasons” to worship You are too few in number. There are so many more.
“Bless the Lord, my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits — who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things…” (Psalm 103:1-5)
I did, Lord. And I do. And I will.
Bless and worship Your holy name… forever.
