Your Story!

OK, Lord.

I stayed up way too late.  Way past my bedtime.

That’s why I didn’t journal here last night.

I decided — yes, I chose — to watch a new Hallmark Christmas movie.

A new one.

This was not my old time-wasting pattern of watching the same one over and over.

I wanted to watch a love story.  So I did.

About a poor girl who, by a series of coincidences, met a king and they both fell in love.

A timeless story.

Where whatever you have or don’t have doesn’t get in the way of true love.

The “happily ever after” kind of love.

It touched me so deeply, I cried.

Just now, at 5:30 AM, I realized why.

It was — it isYour Story, Lord.

Where whatever we have or don’t have doesn’t get in the way of True Love.

Rich or poor in the world’s eyes, at some point in our lives we are all poor in the way that matters most.

“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, their deeds are vile… there is no one who does good… not even one.”  (Psalm 14:1,3b)

In Your Story, there are no coincidences.  No chance encounters.  No “lucky” breaks.

In Your Story, everyone has the opportunity to meet The King and fall in love.

Because You are already head-over-heels in love with us.  And You pursue us.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8)

And we can all choose.  To BE in Your Story… not just to watch it from afar.

Because Your Story is no fairy tale… It’s REAL.

The Greatest Love Story Ever Told.

“Behold!  I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me.”  (Revelations 3:20)

We’re about to celebrate the beginning of Your Story… aren’t we, Lord?

“I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.”  (Luke 2:10-11)

But this wasn’t really the beginning of Your Story… was it, Lord?

And Easter was not really the end of Your Story.

Because Your Story is about a Forever-Kind-of-Love.

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”  (Jeremiah 31:3)

“Do not be afraid.  I am The First and The Last.  I am The Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever!  And I hold 1Z0-470 the keys of death and Hades.”  (Revelation 1:17b,18)

And we can have our Happily Ever After, too…

… if we say “yes” to You!

“Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”  (John 1:12)

Forever Family

[Deep sigh.]

And more tears.  Joyful, grateful tears!
