You ROCK, Lord!

Words are powerful… aren’t they, Lord?

Powerful enough to “ROCK” our world!

It isn’t the letters themselves that hold the power.  It’s what behind those letters when they come together.

The Meaning.  The Motivation.  The Mystery.  The Majesty.

The Momentum.

Words are powerful!

And it doesn’t matter how small they are… does it, Lord?

Perhaps words of one, two or three letters are the most powerful of all.

Take this one-letter word:  “I”

I am responsible.

I am willing.

I give you my word.

I am at fault.

I am sorry.

“I am The Way and The Truth and The Life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.”  (John 14:6)

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.  I will build you up again…”  (Jeremiah 31:3-4a)

Or this two-letter word:  “NO”

NO, I will not “go along” just to “get along.”

NO, I will not do what I know in my heart is wrong.

NO, I will not give up.

“Salvation is found in NO one else, for there is NO other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”  (Acts 4:12)

Then there’s this three-letter word:  “YES”

YES, I will marry you!   🙂

YES, you can count on me.

YES, Jesus… Come into my heart and do whatever You want with my life!!!

“But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not ‘Yes’ and ‘No,’  For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us… was not “Yes” and “No,’ but in Him it has always been ‘Yes.’  For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “YES” in Christ. And so through Him the Amen is spoken by us to the glory of God.”  (2 Corinthians 1:18-20)

Words are powerful!

Even the fewest of letters can ROCK our world!

“The Lord is my ROCK, my Fortress and my Deliverer; my God is my ROCK, in whom I take Refuge, my Shield and the Horn of my Salvation, my Stronghold.”  (Psalm 18:2)

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on The ROCK.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on The ROCK.”  (Matthew 7:24-25)

Powerful words when You first spoke (and/or inspired) them, Lord.

Powerful words Today… for such a time as this!

So go ahead, Lord:  ROCK my world!!!
