X-Rated Search

You are the ultimate Search Engine, Lord.

You direct every inquiry — no matter how bizarre or even “x-rated” — to a particular place at a particular moment.  Always for Your good purposes…

… and for the sake of those You love.

It is impossible for us to fully understand this amazing Truth this side of Heaven… isn’t it, Lord?  Thankfully, when we are finally with You — face-to-face forever — we will know!

“Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.”  (1 Corinthians 13:12)

I popped onto this site just a few minutes ago.  I don’t know why… except that it was Your doing, Lord.  Nudging me with that familiar “heart prompting” of Your Spirit.

I went into the Dashboard to view statistics about the people who have visited this site.  I don’t usually know who looked at what post in particular.  Except today.  Because only one person had used a search engine and the search terms were documented.

X-rated search terms… that included my name.  Sick.

What the searcher found instead, however, was not the filth he was seeking.  Instead, it was yesterday’s post… about Mining for Gold.  About our persistent struggle against sin — the sickness that leads to death.

And about The Antidote.

You, Lord.  The Great Physician.  Who heals us now and for all eternity.  Who then helps us LIVE in freedom from sin, as an expression of our wellness.

These X-rated search terms hinted at the sickness in this poor one’s soul.  When he saw Your words, Lord, did he realize it was You who had directed him there?

You know, Lord, even if he doesn’t… yet.  And one day I may know, too… if his searching leads him to You.

Because there’s nothing random about Your Words or Your Ways.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My Ways higher than your ways and My Thoughts than your thoughts.  As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My Word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:9-11)

Pondering the marvel of You,
