When Time Is Running Out!

I hear the raindrops, Lord.  They are quickly turning into a torrential downpour.

That means my time on the Internet tonight is running out.  (Satellites are notorious for disliking rain, and out here in the “boonies,” satellite Internet is the only game in town.)

So what do I say when I know my time is running out?  I say:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”  (Proverbs 3:5-6)

I have had some precious interactions with some dear women recently, all by Your divine appointment and Your amazing grace.  They have each experienced that feeling at least once in their lives — that time was running out on them. One has broken through to a spectacular place of healing and freedom, thanks to her willingness to not give up on You… even when she thought You had given up on her.

Another is still in that painful place of knowing her past failures and believing the enemy’s version of “the truth” — that her bad choices and their consequences will follow her all the rest of her life.  She has heard the enemy’s version of “truth” — which, of course, is a lie — inside her head for so long, she wonders if it’s possible to ever think anything else.

But it is… isn’t it, Lord.  Because You have promised that our past story is NOT the rest of our story!

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.  For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son… And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.  What then shall we say in response to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us?”  (Romans 8:28-31)

Indeed.

Well… my time has run out.  As I look at my modem, I see my Internet is gone.  I dare not hit the “save” key, or I will lose all of these words.

I am so thankful that You, Lord, already hit the “save” key for me.  And though I may be disconnected from the Internet right now because of rain, I will never again be disconnected from You.  Your Liviing Water has quenched my soul thirst forever!

“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!… Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the Water of Life.”  (Revelation 22:17)

And I know that Your Living Water will, one day soon, also quench the soul thirst of my heartbroken friend.  Because she is coming to You, Lord.  And You will embrace her — in unmistakable and irresistible ways — with Your Everlasting and Unfailing Love.

Gratefully,

Abba’s Girl
