When Search Engines Rev…

Lord, You know I am a novice when it comes to Social Media.  Is that why, in the last 24 hours, You have used this technology to bless my socks off?!

At Your invitation, I am venturing outside my comfort zone and into what feels very much like a Cyber Autobon.  Can it really be true that the average “lifespan” of a Facebook post is just three hours???  I guess that old saying is becoming more true by the minute:  “You snooze, you lose.”

Just for fun, You had me “Google” myself today.  Wow… I never knew there were so many people “out there” with my name!  I even saw one obituary.  I don’t remember who said, “The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.” I couldn’t agree more!  🙂  Thanks to You, Lord, I am very much alive!!!

“I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.  For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”  (Philippians 1:20-21)

I guess it doesn’t really matter how many people “out there” have a name similar to mine.  When You called me by name, there was no confusion about who You meant.

“But now, this is what the Lord says — He who created you… ‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine.”  (Isaiah 43:1)

I’m a “newbie” at website design, too.  This one was born when You said it was time for me to have a new platform for this blog.  “Birthing” this website certainly brought its share of labor pains!  🙂   My web designer said “someday” we might want to look at something called “search engine optimization” — how to configure the site to end up on Google’s first page of results from a key word search.  I agreed — maybe someday

Just for fun, I tried it tonight.  I Google’d “Champions of Destiny.”  My search took all of .28 seconds — that’s less than half a second — and yielded 10,800,000 results.  Mind boggling!  But even more so is the fact that my website was number one on the list!!!

There’s no one better at “optimizing” anything than You… is there, Lord?  !!!

“This is what the Lord says — Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty:  I am the first and the last; apart from Me there is no God.  Who then is like me?… You are My witnesses.  Is there any God besides me?  No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.”  (Isaiah 44:6-7a,8b)

You proved it to me again yesterday.

You gave me a “heart prompting” to contact a woman I have not seen or talked to in thirty-eight years.  Long before I knew You, precious Lord, You used her to help save my life.  The “heart prompting” You gave me was to reach out to her to thank her... and to bless her by telling her about all the LIFE You have given me since that very dark time.

So I Google’d her name… and found, among other things, a Facebook page listing.  So I sent her a message and a friend request.  I was advised that, because we were not yet friends, my message would go to some “Other” folder.  Is that like a “black hole” folder that swallows up messages into oblivion?  The chance of her seeing my message seemed remote at best.  I knew the “ball” was in Your court, Lord, and I said so in my prayer:  “If You want us to connect, Lord, You need to make it happen.”

And You did!!!

“The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”  (Proverbs 16:9)

She accepted my friend request!  Now, Lord, You need to make the way for us to talk!  I don’t know what You are up to here — why You are orchestrating this particular Divine Appointment right now.  But I’m going to find out soon.  And when I do, I have a feeling my “socks” are going to get blessed right off me… all over again!

I can hardly wait, Lord!!!

With joyful anticipation,

Abba’s Girl
