Unstuck… In Spirit, If Not In Body!

Precious Readers…

Yes, I’ve been absent the last couple of post days. Just thought I’d fill you in, since it’s pretty unusual for me to not be writing.

We’ve been scurrying around, packing for our big move south. Back to our real Home, leaving our vacation retreat behind once again.

We were all set to leave yesterday, but awoke to torrential rains. And a roof leak. Yikes (to put it mildly).

We waited out the rain… which, by God’s Grace, abated. We repaired the leak ourselves (and cleaned out the gutters, to boot) before daylight ended.

We were all set to leave this morning, but are facing an even more daunting challenge. Our baby, Skippy.

She awoke while it was still dark outside. Nothing unusual there. So, as always, we let her out on the screened-in back porch until time for her breakfast.

Except, today of all days, she wasn’t on the porch at breakfast time. She had pulled down part of the screen… and escaped.

Yikes… on steroids.

You’ve heard the expression, “Herding cats”? Yet another way of dreaming The Impossible Dream?

It’s raining again., as it has been all morning. So she’s out there hiding. Somewhere.

Partly because of the rain. Partly because she’s watched us loading boxes for the last two days. And, although she’s a great traveler (once we’re on the road), she makes herself scarce beforehand.

We spotted her a couple of hours ago… making her way across the backyard. We know she’s nearby. But how do we coax an unwilling cat to do anything she’s not inclined to do?

PRAY.  🙂

We’re ready to go. We haven’t winterized the house yet (e.g., drained the hot water tank, put potable antifreeze in the pipes). We might be stuck here another day, after all. If there’s one thing we can’t leave behind, it’s Skippy.

And she knows it.

“I call on the LORD in my distress, and He answers me.” (Psalm 120:1)

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  (Philippians 4:6-7)

Gratefully,

Abba’s Girl

Skippy, you little scamp! Mind your parents and come home from your wild adventure!! It sounds like the Lord is giving you two some rest time after your busy preparation time! God speed! I’ll send up a prayer for your energetic kitty to return! xoxo

Thanks for your prayer and encouragement, Carolyn. Less than five minutes after I published this post, Skippy was in my arms! The Lord doesn’t always answer our prayers that fast… but sometimes He answers them before we even finish speaking them. Amen? Just sayin… 🙂
