This Quiet Place

I was there this morning.  In “This Quiet Place” in the darkness, right before dawn.  The darkness that is not darkness to You, Abba.

“You, Lord, are my Lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.”  (2 Samual 22:29)

Tinkerbell, in the movie “Hook,” called it the place between dreaming and awake.  The place where she would always love Peter Pan.  The place where she would always be waiting for him.

That’s where You were waiting for me today, Abba.  Except I wasn’t dreaming… and I was fully awake.  Longing.  Expecting.  Receiving.

“… the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.”  (James 1:6b-7)

This Quiet Place that was empty of words, yet full of Meaning.  Pregnant with Purpose.

The Purpose of being… not doing.

Being together.

“Submit yourselves, then, to God… Come near to God and He will come near to you.”  (James 1:7a,8a)

This Quiet Place of surrender… not striving.  Of knowing… not just needing.  Of waiting… and welcome.

“Here I am!  I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My Voice and opens the door, I will come in…”  (Revelation 3:20)

ALL IN.  Because there, You are ALL MINE.  And I am ALL YOURS.

ALWAYS.

“The Lord has done it this very day.  Let us rejoice today and be glad.”  (Psalm 118:24)
