There’s No Time Like The Present!

I do believe in the power of prayer, Lord.

How could I not… when You have proven it to me over and over again?

Years ago, whenever someone would ask me to pray for them, I would gladly agree.  I would leave our conversation with the best of intentions… and then, too often, forget to pray as the busyness of life engulfed me.

No more.  Now whenever I am asked to pray, I say:  “There’s no time like the present!  Let’s pray right now!”  And we do.

That’s what I’m asking for tonight, Lord.

I don’t often mention my dear husband in this blog.  At his request.  He doesn’t like to be the focus of attention.  But tonight, I am respectfully ignoring his request.

Because he needs prayer.

Tomorrow, he is undergoing major surgery.  In deference to his wishes, I won’t reveal any more details.  But I do ask You, Abba, to prompt anyone You would like to include in his prayer “army” to read this blog.

And to do, as I do… because “there’s no time like the present” to pray.

We have been engaged in so many different kinds of preparations in recent weeks.  It’s late now… way past time for us to try to get some sleep tonight. We leave early tomorrow morning for a hospital 90 miles away.  So I’m signing off now.

But it is never to late to pray.

I’ll be doing it all day tomorrow, as I have been for weeks now.

Who will You encourage to join me, Lord?

“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.”  (Psalm 23:1)

Gratefully,

Abba’s Girl

Dear Heavenly Father, I join my dear Sista in praying for her dear husband. We’ve been praying for this day for weeks now. We know you’ve gone before us to prepare his heart, mind and body for the procedure. We lift up to you the medical staff, especially the surgeon, to give You their best attention, to give him their very best services. Be there with him, whisper your soothing comfort over him. Hold his hands, ne heart in Your care. Be with him as he wakes. Touch him with your healing hands! May this be accomplished in a powerful way where You dear Lord will be glorified. Be with Diana to give her your strength to be his encourager! And by Your stripes, we pray he is healed!
    In Jesus name we pray!
    Amen!
