The Way of Love

It’s Your way, Lord.  Because You are Love.  And You are The Way.

“If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.  And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.  God is Love.  Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”  (1 John 4:16)

I spent time yesterday with two new friends.  Clearly, You are doing something beautiful there, Lord. You are connecting our hearts... for such a time as this.

They have been around me often enough to know I am Yours.  Or, at least, to know that I proclaim Your name.  They don’t yet know the fullness of what that means.

I sense they have suffered abuse and rejection by others who have proclaimed Your name.  Or, at least, they fear it may happen… if they were to let down their guard.

The step toward this new friendship came from them.  An invitation to lunch.  To get to know each other better.

Actually, You took the first step… didn’t You, Lord?  By the words and countenance You gave me on occasions past, when we were in larger meetings together.  When we were strangers across the room from each other.

Yesterday, we began what I already sense will be a beautiful Divine Appointment.  In Your great Love, You are drawing us together.  To bless all of us in life-transforming ways.

You are the greatest Gift — the greatest Treasure — I have to offer them, Lord.  That’s what this is all about… isn’t it?

But just like that wise saying asserts:  “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”  So we have begun this Season of Caring.

Yesterday, You filled our conversation with amazing words of Life — words of Encouragement and Hope.  I sense the future day is coming when You will fill our conversation with words of LIFE — words of Eternal and Abundant LIFE!

And, because of this Season of Caring, those words of Truth will take root in fertile soil.  Because that is Your Way..

The Way of Love.

“God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8)

“Jesus answered, ‘I am The Way and The Truth and The Life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.'”  (John 14:6)

Expectantly,

Abba’s Girl
