The Marvel, Mystery & Miracle of You!

We were sharing our hearts in Your Presence, Lord.  Two of Your daughters who, by Your Amazing Grace, have been journeying together for over a year.

Suddenly, a precious Truth bubbled up in my spirit:  It is the Marvel, Mystery and Miracle of You, Lord. That You would give us eyes to see, ears to hear, a heart to discern, and a mind to understand what You are teaching us in any given moment.  So You can, in the very next moment (it seems), have us…

… pay it forward.

You don’t wait until the work You are doing in us is complete.  If You did, You would be waiting a long time!  Too long for us to make any difference for You this side of Heaven.

“I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel… being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”  (Philippians 1:6)

It’s as if You can’t wait for us to share the fresh revelation You have given us with someone else who needs it.  Someone You send across our paths at the perfect moment.  So we, Your imperfect servants, can bless someone else with the blessing we have just received from You.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”  (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

How do You do it, Lord?  Truly it is…

A Marvel:  A wonderful, astonishing thing.

A Mystery:  Impossible to understand or explain.

A Miracle:  A surprising and welcome event that cannot be explained by natural or scientific laws, and therefore is considered the work of a Divine agency.

You’re doing this now, Lord, in my relationship with this precious sister-in-Christ.  She considers me more “mature” in my walk with You, and always drinks deeply from whatever latest lesson You have imparted to me.  She just doesn’t realize You are doing the same, through her, with me!

“Freely you have received; freely give.”  (Matthew 10:8b)

Surely, it is for Your glory that You do this, Lord.  Yet You never fail to bless our socks off in the process! Like You have with my Forever Sister and me.  We could never merit such abundant favor…Maybe that, more than anything else, is what takes my breath away…

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you so that you might go and bear fruit — fruit that will last — and so that whatever you ask in My name the Father will give you.”  (John 1:16)

What could be more marvelous, Lord?!  Or mysterious?!  Or miraculous?!

Awestruck,

Abba’s Girl
