Lord, what an amazing day!!! So much to praise You and thank You for… but I begin here with what happened at the end of our session.
One of our team members was leading the group of 15-year-olds. She was “blown away” by what was revealed in her group. She was caught unaware. Surprised by the darkness these emerging women had experienced in their young lIves.
Fifteen… going on forty.
Abuse. Incest. Rape. Does the list ever end? Preyed upon at ages far younger than 15. Is any age too “young” for the enemy’s agenda? Alcohol. Drugs. Promiscuity. Is there no end to painkillers that only increase the pain?
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy…” (John 10:10a)
This team member expressed her concern. “We have to ratchet this up.” No sugar coating will make a difference with these young women who are old before their time.
One even mocked You today. “Jesus LOVES me??? Yeah.. right.” She could quote the Bible backwards and forwards. But it doesn’t ring true. Not for her. She’s terminally broken… or so she thinks.
Just like I did.
Another said, “Sometimes I wish I was white, because white people don’t have problems like this.” She can’t change herself, so there’s no hope for her… or so she thinks.
Just like I did.
You gave me awareness before I came here that this place is rife with such abuse. You have directed my steps and my prayers, even today, in what I know are powerful ways. Along with others who are also praying powerfully behind the scenes.
Because we are here as Your prayer warriors. Fighting on our knees against such darkness, in ways directed by Your Spirit… for results that are certain, even as they may still be invisible.
Are You calling me to another role this week, Lord? To share my journey with You, through the darkness of abuse and addiction to the brink of suicide? All the way to miraculous Hope and Healing?
From certain death to LIFE?
“I [Jesus] have come that they may have LIFE, and have it ABUNDANTLY.” (John 10:10b)
Are there others You have assembled here this week, to do the same? I have spoken to no one else, yet I am confident when I say:
We are willing, Lord.
Move the leadership in whatever ways You desire… so that ALL You have planned for this week will come to fruition. For the sake of these young women, Lord…
…and for sake of Your Name.
So they will KNOW You are who You say You are… The Lover of their souls! The Rescuing Savior! The Healer of Broken Hearts! The Mighty Deliverer! The HOPE of the World!
The HOPE of their world.
“And we boast in the HOPE of the glory of God… And HOPE does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” (Romans 5:2b,5)
