All ten were…
“Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” (Luke 17:13)
“When He saw them, He said, ‘Go, show yourselves to the priests.’ And as they went, they were cleansed.” (Luke 17:14)
All ten were…
Joyfully healed… in body.
Obediently running to the priests.
Only ONE was…
Grateful to The Healer.
Joyfully healed… in body and spirit.
Running, not to the priests, but back to The High Priest.
“One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked Him — and he was a Samaritan.” (Luke 17:15-16)
“Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except the foreigner?” (Luke 17:16)
I was once like all ten, Lord.
I have also been like the healed nine.
I am often like the 10th. Often… but not always. I want always, Lord!
“Rise and go: your faith has made you well.” (Like 17:19)
Where there is a will, there is a Way. My will. Choosing Your Will. Cooperating with You.
I often do, Lord… choose You and cooperate with You.
Often… but not always. I want always, Lord!
“I am The Way…” (John 14:6)
“I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose Life, so that you… may love the Lord your God, listen to His Voice, and hold fast to Him. For the Lord is your Life…” (Deuteronomy 30:19-20)
I can rise higher. I am rising higher.
I can go father. I am going farther.
Often. Not always. But more.
Because I am, by Your Unfailing Grace and with Your Relentless Help…
… choosing You more!
… loving You more!
… listening to You more!
… holding onto You more!
