Thank You, Lord, for PLAN B!

PLAN A would have doubled our gain… and our pain.

Friday, we went on our longest bicycle ride ever:  35.5 miles in 5.5 hours!   The scenery was spectacular!  The challenge was adventuresome!  But… I wasn’t sure we were going to make it.  I was beginning to think we might not.

I must say, Lord… It gave me a new appreciation of Your precious Word:

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances…”  (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

🙂   🙂   🙂

By Your Grace, Lord, we did it!  And later, fell into our hotel bed after… a LONG, HOT shower, two (four?) aspirins, and a delicious home-cooked dinner with friends.

Have I ever slept more soundly, Lord?   🙂

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”  (Matthew 11:28)

Like I said, PLAN A would have doubled our gain… and our pain.

PLAN A would have put us back on our bikes Saturday, with an “Instant Replay” in reverse. For another 35.5 miles, in what would have undoubtedly been longer than 5.5 hours… since we would have been going slightly uphill the whole way.

Yesterday?   The very next day?  We convened our “board” of two and voted unanimously for PLAN B!   🙂

Our Plan B included a leisurely ride into the suburbs on the Metro (subway) with our bikes in tow.  A leisurely ride on a local bike path into a shopping village.  A leisurely brunch at an air-conditioned restaurant.

A “Rescue Ride” from a dear friend who went out of his way to pick us up (plus our bikes) and drive us back to the ferry where our truck was parked.

“For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways…”  (Psalm 91:11)

I know, Lord… Technically, people are not angels.  But in that moment, our friend was the next best thing!   🙂

By the time we got home at 7:00, we both hit the bed… intending to rest.  And rest we did… ALL NIGHT LONG!   🙂

Thank You, Lord, for PLAN B!!!  This one… and the one You orchestrated so very long ago.

When through Your PLAN B, You chose to…

Be our Friend.  Be our Cross-bearer.  Be killed.  Become Alive again… forever!

So we could (can)…

Believe.  Be loved.  Belong.  Be free.  BYoursforever!

Thank You, Lord, for PLAN B!!!

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be over all the earth.”  (Psalm 57:11)

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted…”  (Psalm 46:10)

Recovering,

Abba’s Biker Girl   🙂
