Supersize My Weakness… Please!

What self-respecting military bootcamp would ever market a course entitled “The Power of Weakness” as the essential foundation for Victory in battle?

None. That’s a fact. And maybe that’s The Problem. Because as long as warrior training is self-respecting, it is blind — hopelessly and irrevocably — to the True Source of Power…

The Lord Jesus Christ!

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My Power is made perfect in weakness.”  (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Maybe that’s why we should stop arm wrestling with Him… Amen? He’s bound to win. And the sooner He does… the sooner we do, too!   🙂

Today’s blog was born in my spirit this week through my interactions with two precious clients. Both Christian Women of Influence with significant responsibility and authority. Professionally (in the business world) and personally (in their families and communities).

Both are strong-willed. Both keenly aware that they want and desperately need more of the Lord’s Power in their lives. And both are finally — and oh-so-gratefully — coming to the priceless realization that the Power they most want and need will only be found as they admit and embrace their own weakness.

It’s another of those wonder-full ironies of Life with The Lord of The Universe. The more we die to ourselves, the more we live in Him. The more we empty ourselves, the more He fills us. When we humble ourselves, He lifts us up.

And our surest path to Abundant Victory is through Absolute Surrender.

Go figure!  🙂

“Whoever has My commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves Me. He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I too will love him and show Myself to him.”  (John 14:21)

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”  (Isaiah 41:10)

“Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes… stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”   (Ephesians 6:10-11,13b)

“… for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses… insults… hardships… persecutions… difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”  (2 Corinthians 12:10)

“This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”  (1 John 5:4)

“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.”  (2 Peter 1:3)

“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  (John 16:33)

The star of a funny rental car commercial calls himself a “Control Enthusiast.” Why do we laugh? Because we secretly aspire to be more like him? When what we really need is to be more surrendered… to the Lord’s control?

What ONE thing could you do in the next 30 days to surrender more of you to the Lord?
