Sucking Pure Oxygen!

I had to look it up, Lord!  I had to know the beneficial effects of Hyberbaric Oxygen Chamber Therapy (HBOT).

The list of benefits is impressive (or, rather, the claims of benefits I read on Internet sites).  🙂   According to those sites, for example:

1.  HBOT greatly increases the oxygen concentration in all body tissues, even with reduced or blocked blood flow.

2.  It stimulates the growth of new blood vessels to locations with reduced circulation, improving blood flow to areas where arteries are somewhat blocked.

3.  It increases the diameter of blood vessels, improving blood flow to compromised organs.

4.  It aids the treatment of infection by enhancing white blood cell action.

5.  It dissolves oxygen into all of the body’s fluids, the plasma, the central nervous sysem fluids, lymph system and bones where it can carry its healing effects to the cellular level.

Why did I have to look it up today, Lord?  Because I felt as if I had been through a three-hour HBOT session!!!

That’s what three hours in Your Word did to me today!!!

And why not?  Your version of HBOT — is it “Holy Bible Obedience Therapy” — must be way better than the Hyperbaric kind!

Doesn’t Your Word permeate us to the core, infusing us with LIFE?

“For the Word of God is alive and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”  (Hebrews 4:12)

Aren’t You the Greatest Physician — the #1 Healer of healers — in all the Universe in all of time?

“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name.  Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits — who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.”  (Psalm 103:1-5)

Doesn’t Your Word stimulate new growth within us, benefitting us in every way conceivable?

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”  (2 Timothy 3:16)

Aren’t You responsible for our greatest blood infusion and blood transfusion?

“This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”  (Matthew 26:28)

Isn’t Your Word worthy of our trust and obedience?

“… love the Lord, listen to His Voice, and hold fast to Him.  For the Lord is your life.”  (Deuteronomy 30:20ab)

And if (when) we trust and obey Your Word, aren’t we the better for it?

“Do not merely listen to The Word and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says… whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it — not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it — they will be blessed in what they do.”  (James 1:22,25)

It’s isn’t often that I give myself permission to spend such an extended period of time with You, Lord.  My usual pattern is to work harder (even if not necessarily smarter).  Maybe I need to start a new pattern…

Revitalized… !!!

Thank you for taking us into the chamber with you to worship and delight in Him, and to receive! I loved the analogy! Thanks, dear sister!
