The day has arrived!!!
It is almost midnight. Tomorrow, I leave for New York for the precious privilege of speaking to Your daughters, Abba. Those You will draw from various congregations to the Christian Women’s Conference on Saturday.
What a ride it has been, Lord, in the weeks since You extended this invitation! (Has it been barely a month???)
Seeking You every morning. Listening with my ears, mind, heart and spirit to be clear about whatever You want to do… and whatever You want me to do, as I follow Your lead.
I can hardly wait to see what You have planned for us!
Already I am breathing a sigh of relief as I note the hurricane that was threatening the East Coast is now turning ever-eastward into the Atlantic Ocean. Just yesterday, most of the forecasters were predicting a hit on Virginia of a possible Category 3 storm.
Not my favorite weather for getting in an airplane! 🙂
Somehow, I couldn’t believe You would lead us to this point, Lord… only to stop us in our tracks with a hurricane.
Your enemy has been working overtime to stop us. Just another indicator of what we are all sensing… that You have great plans in store! And Your plans will NOT be thwarted!
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
I did have one minor glitch. No suitcase! How did I leave it in Florida, Lord? Because I didn’t expect to need it. Oh well… By Your grace, I am ready with what is most important:
“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction.” (2 Timothy 4:2)
For now, Lord… May I please have rest tonight that exceeds the hours I will be able to sleep?
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
