Small… But Mighty!

We were sitting by a big lake.  The wind was blowing; so much so, there were actually waves hitting the beach.

I had never seen waves at this particular beach before… so I knew it must be significant.  It reminded me of something a teenage girl said recently within my hearing.  You spoke something to her heart and she immediately knew it was true:

“No matter what you have done, My blood has wiped your “slate” clean… like waves on a beach.”

How will it be true today, Lord?  For the one who sits with me by this lake… whose “slate” also needs to be wiped clean?

I was praying, but You suddenly had me open my eyes (even as my prayer continued).  What I saw spoke volumes:  The Answer.  A tiny bird chasing a hawk many times larger.  Fearless… “impossibly” so.  Yet… the tiny bird was victorious.  The hawk fled.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.  The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all…”  (Psalm 34:18-19

So it was by the lake today.  The lies of the enemy like huge birds of prey.  Seemingly invincible.  Dominating for decades.  But then You spoke, Lord.  You, Who always have the last word because You are The Word.  Your still small whisper like that tiny bird — Fearless.  Faith-full.  Freeing.

“… be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”  (Ephesians 6:12)

“… and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”  (2 Corinthians 10:5b)

Hawks on the run.  Cleansing waves on the beach.  In the natural, but especially… in the Spirit.

“God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.”  (Genesis 1:31a)
