Sliding down… into an old Pattern.  That’s where my client was when we last spoke.

The Pattern and its Root are not uncommon… especially in our culture.  The Pattern is Anxiety and Fear… always over money.  Never having “enough.”  Even when we have a lot.

The manifestation of this Pattern is a level of striving that leads to overscheduling, overachieving… at some point, even underperforming.  Due to chronic sleeplessness, exhaustion and/or just plain STRESS.

She had… finger-pointing questions:  “Why does this keep happening?”  “When will I get past this?”

… self-condemning thoughts:  “I know what I should do, but I don’t.”  “What’s wrong with me???”

… all-too-familiar feelings:  Frustration.  Impatience.  Anger.  Remorse.

Yet… She also has YOU, Lord.  The One with Every Answer.  You spent our time together reminding her of this.  So she could leverage that Truth to climb back up.  Beyond where she’s ever been before.

You had questions of Your own.  Questions to ponder in Your Presence.  You prompted me to ask them, but they came from Your heart to hers.  And they began to bear fruit… even in our brief time together.

When did this particular Pattern begin?  When did you first grab hold of it?

In high school.  When she realized others had more money, better clothes, and better “positions” in life. When she realized she was The Outsider… and she wanted IN.

What is your awareness of The Root of this Pattern?  What is the Core Belief you have about all this?

Money is “proof” of… Success.  Worth.  Intelligence.  Without enough money… the opposite is “true.” I’m a Loser.  Worthless.  Stupid.  And therefore… Unwanted.  Unloved.  Unlovable.

How true is this with others you know?

NOT!

How would God characterize these Core Beliefs?

Lies, Lies and More Lies.

How much money do you have now?  How much would be “enough”… really?

Compared to the rest of the world, she’s already in the top… 10%?  5%?  1%?  But as long as she holds onto these Lies, there will never be “enough.”

What does The Lord say about all this?

That’s her “assignment” over the coming holidays.  Her meditation with You, Lord, as the Old Year draws to a close and the New Year begins.

She’s not looking for a list of New Year’s Resolutions, Lord.  She wants a New Year’s REVOLUTION.

And You’re just The One to give it to her!

“I have loved you with an Everlasting Love, I have drawn you with Unfailing Kindness.  I will build you up again…”  (Jeremiah 31:3)

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to Prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you Hope and a Future.'”  (Jeremiah 29:11)

Expectantly,

Abba’s Girl
