Not in Kansas Anymore!

I had a “Wizard of Oz” moment this morning, Lord.

Like the moment when Dorothy steps out of her sepia-tone life into brilliant TECHNICOLOR. And she realizes she is not in Kansas anymore.

Yet I haven’t been in “Kansas” for decades, Lord.  And I certainly don’t have a sepia-tone life. In so many ways, on so many levels, I already experience LIFE in every rainbow hue!

But this morning, I felt like I was standing at the threshold of Dorothy’s tornado-blown house.  Opening the door of my mind just a crack.  Knowing there is another whole dimension just on the other side of that door.

A dimension so radically different, it is like a black-and-white world being transformed into breathtaking color!

Isn’t that a picture of Breakthrough, Lord?  When You bring us to a point of insight and/or revelation that rocks our world?  When You turn even the greatest tragedies, trials and terrors in our lives into something of profound and lasting value?

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”  (Genesis 50:20)

I’m not quite there yet… at this new Breakthrough.  But I know I’m close.  As if the Revelation is standing just beyond a veil.  And You are about to remove the veil.

Revealing a treasure.  The Gift of A Lifetime.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”  (James 1:17)

You are about to deepen my level of understanding… aren’t You, Lord?  To help me “make sense” of my life in a way I will need for the Season just ahead.  You have chosen to lead me along a particular path to Discovery.

A path leading right through the wounds of my past.

Looking for patterns that kept repeating.  Remembering how I felt when they happened… and what I craved.  Analyzing how I compensated.  Discovering all that You honed in me, Lord, even when my “coping” and “compensating” strategies were totally dysfunctional.

“And we know that God causes all things to be worked together for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”  (Romans 8:28)

I can hardly wait, Lord!  Color me… Ready!  Willing!   Eager!
