Mysterious Malady

I was fine at dawn.  No problem on our eight-mile bike ride.  My breakfast of champions — Grape Nuts — went down without a hitch.

That’s when it hit me.  Slowly at first.  Slow enough that I managed to drop my honey off at his appointment.  I even shopped for groceries.  But something just didn’t feel right.

Then came The Ton of Bricks.  As if I was standing on a high cliff… then diving into an open pit below.  FAR below.  With a rock slide settling on top of me.  So I dove into bed… and stayed there the rest of the day.

I couldn’t eat.  I woke up occasionally… long enough to turn over and go back to sleep.  By Your Grace, Lord, I did what I needed to do.  Some precious kitties needed food and company.  By Your Spirit, I was… able.

“If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.”  (John 15:5)

Tonight, the Ton of Bricks lifted and left.  As mysteriously as it had arrived.

All because of You, Lord.

“I have given you authority… to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”  (Luke 10:19)

Nothing, indeed.

Resting in You,

Abba’s Girl
