My “Just In Time” God

Something happened today that took me back twenty years.  I know it was all Your doing, Lord.

Twenty years ago, I was active in the Total Quality Movement in corporate America.  It was quite a time, Lord, helping corporate leaders consider how to engage their employees in seeking the highest possible quality in their processes and results.  By Your grace, I even co-authored a book about how to implement “Total Quality” in managing a company’s most important asset — its human resources.

One of the key productivity tools introduced at the time was called “Just In Time” Manufacturing.  It was a way of designing and coordinating systems to ensure the delivery of necessary materials “just in time” to maximize production efficiencies while minimizing costly inventories.  I don’t remember who invented this manufacturing tool, but it proved to be an extremely valuable one.

I can only imagine that it was inspired by You, Lord.  Because You are the One and Only “Just In Time” God.

“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all people.  This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.”  (1 Timothy 2:5-6)

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.”  (Romans 5:6)

That included me.  And long ago, You showed up “just in time” to save my life.  I didn’t know it was You at the time… but it was.  Then, years later, You gave me eyes to see that You were there for me back then.  And You are here for me right now… AND whenever and wherever I need You.

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”  (Hebrews 4:16)

I hadn’t approached Your throne of grace today to ask for Your help.  You just knew my heart.  You knew my need.  And at the perfect time, You left Your throne of grace to hand-deliver exactly what I needed.

“In the time of My favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you…”  (Isaiah 49:8a)

It was a gift of Encouragement.  I know this Gift was from Your heart to mine, but You used a precious sister-in-Christ to deliver it.  Through an unexpected email I received today.

A Gift of Encouragement, spurring me on in a particular work I had begun to wonder about.  Is this really making any difference?  Your Gift told me exactly what I needed to know.  “Yes, it is… so keep going.”

I will, Lord… thanks, once again, to You.  Because, once again, You got here just in time.

Forever grateful…

… that I am forever Yours,

Abba’s Girl
