My Black Sea Miracle

Will I ever see a Red Sea split in two, Lord?

Or any other jaw-dropping, spine-tingling, reason-defying Miracle of that magnitude? You’re the only One who knows The Answer to that question, Lord.

And what if I never did?

Would it lessen the certainty of what I know?

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”  (Hebrews 11:1)

Would it render me somehow less able to do whatever You may call me to do?

“His divine power gives us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.”  (2 Peter 1:3)

Would it usher forth doubt like a rip tide undertow, to erode the foundation beneath my feet and drag me under?

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”  (2 Corinthians 10:5)

I don’t need a Red Sea parting, Lord.  Granted… It would be awesome to see it!   🙂   But I don’t need it.  Because I’ve already experienced the greatest Miracle I can imagine.

The fact that I am Yours.

Because You, Lord, parted my Black Sea — all that would have kept me separated from You forever… if You had let it.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8)

“To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”  (John 1:12)

Besides… One definition of “miracle” is any uncommon activity in which You, Lord, arouse awe and wonder and bear witness to Yourself.  And You do that with me all the time!   🙂

Even so, what matters most is The Miracle Maker.  Because You — and You alone — are more than enough.

Gratefully,

Abba’s Girl
