Making the Old New… For The 1st Time

Making the old new.  You’re doing it all the time… aren’t You, Lord?

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”  (Isaiah 43:18-19)

Like taking a hunk of old, cracked leather and making it supple again.

Taking a parched desert and turning it into an lush Oasis.

Taking someone who’s “old” beyond their years and releasing their Inner Child.

Taking a closed mind and opening it.

Taking a hardened heart and softening it.

Taking a broken heart and mending it.

Taking a sick soul and healing it.

Taking a dead body and resurrecting it.

Making the old new… maybe for the very first time.

I saw the possibilities of all this tonight, Lord, as four of Your daughters gathered together to pray.

Burdened… yet Believing.

Uncertain… yet Undaunted.

Hesitant… yet Hopeful.

Terrified… yet Thrilled.

Following You forward… to a place we’ve never been before.

“Lord, if it’s You,’ Peter replied, ‘tell me to come to You on the water.’  ‘Come,’ He said.  Then Peter got down out of the boat and walked on the water…”  (Matthew 14:28-29)

Ready to get our feet wet…   🙂
