Lord Who Sings to Me

Oh, Abba…

You’re so Amazing.  Surprising… yet Predictable.

“In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help… He heard my voice… He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters.”  (Psalm 18:6,16)

You didn’t wait long to send me Your priceless words of encouragement today.  I wrote the cry of my heart to You last night and this morning, in church, You sang Your Answer to me.  It came in the lyrics of a song by Laura Story.  The song is entitled, “Grace.”  The words convey the miracle of Your Transforming Touch — how You gently break us and lovingly take us, so You can hold us as our loving Father who molds us as our Maker.

You are so merciful, Lord. Your mercy is so very sweet… but not ever “sugar coated.”  Sometimes it is a “severe” mercy.  Without the severity of the present circumstance (or Your molding touch), we would not fully appreciate the depth of Your mercy.

No pain, No gain.

But how many times will You keep picking me up, Lord, when I keep letting You down?  When I fall short of Your glory, how far will Your forgiveness flow?

How far indeed?  Your Word says, “As far as the East is from the West” (Psalm 103:12).  The one place that can never be found.  Even as I speak my questions, You sing Your Answers with Unfailing Assurance.  As long as I seek Your Face, I will walk in the power of Your all-sufficient Grace.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”  (2 Corinthians 12:9)

The daily mega-dose we all need of “Vitamin JC.”  Available 24/7/365.  FREE… yet Priceless.

So I continue to walk through Life with You, Lord, learning more and more what Your Grace really means.  At Calvary, You paid the price I could never pay.  So maybe instead of always trying to repay You, I will let myself discover the path You have been leading me to all along.  The path of simply obeying You… of giving up my life to You for all You have given to me.

Simply obeying You?  If it’s so simple, Lord, why do I make it so complicated?  Why do I resist You, even when I know without question or doubt that You’re the best — the only — One for me?

The Answer is one You sing to me from Your Heart, in words You gave to Laura: “My child, I love you. And as long as you’re seeking My face, You’ll walk in the power of My daily sufficient grace.”

Seeking You… still.
