Our Love Fest this morning began when I first opened my eyes. You were so close, Lord. How could I not say “I love You” even before I said “Good Morning”?
“My Beloved spoke and said to me, ‘Arise, My darling, My beautiful one, come with Me.'” (Song of Songs 2:10)
We went outside. On our front deck. I felt the chill in the air. The first chill of Fall. I shivered… until I nestled into Your embrace.
“The Eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” (Deuteronomy 33:27)
The wind rose, rustling the leaves in the forest all around us. Even the bugs and the birds sang Your praises, Lord!
“All the earth bows down to You; they sing praise to You, they sing the praises of Your name.” (Psalm 66:4)
Skippy came over with her purr-machine in full gear. I began to thank You for bringing her to us so long ago. She had been abandoned. You filled our hearts with love for her. The purr-fect addition to our family!
“A Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families…” (Psalm 68:5-6)
Suddenly my eyes filled with tears. Tears of gratitude and joy. You did the same for me, Lord. I was fatherless on so many levels. But You had already set Your heart on me… as Your daughter. So You came after me… and changed my life forever.
I began to praise You for being such a Good Father. A Good Dad. A Good Daddy.
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.” (Matthew 6:9)
“God sent the Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba, Father.’ So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child….” (Galatians 4:6-7)
What a beautiful Love Fest this morning, Abba! What a way to start the day!
“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!” (Psalm 118:24)
Kisses in The Wind. [Deep sigh.]
Still feeling the tender touch of Your lips…
