If Only I Could Put It Into a Pill… !!!

It’s like a Miracle Drug, Lord.  How can one “substance” accomplish so many tangible health benefits in everyone who tries it?

Reduced levels of cortisol — the stress hormone — in the blood.  Reduced levels of inflammatory biomarkers in the blood.  Increased coherence in heart rate variability patterns.  All of which reduce cardiac risk.

Stronger immune system.  Lower blood pressure.  Higher levels of serotonin, stimulating pleasure and reducing pain.  Increased production of NK — “Natural Killer” — cells, which suppress tumor growth. Release of oxytocin in the brain — the “cuddle hormone” that facilitates social bonding.

Better, more positive moods.  Higher quality sleep, therefore less fatigue.  Greater sense of self-efficacy (belief in one’s ability to deal with a situation).

All stimulated by this Miracle Drug!  At least, it would be a Miracle Drug… if I could just put this priceless “substance” into a pill.  We would be more inclined to take it then… wouldn’t we, Lord?

The foolproof way to a healthier me:  GRATITUDE — Feeling it… and expressing it to others.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, given thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

I have been reading about this Miracle Drug much of today, Lord.  Marveling at the wonders of its benefits and its accessibility.  Marveling at You, Lord… who created our brains and our bodies to be made healthier as we more fully “ingest” this megavitamin.

Vitamin G — GRATITUDE!

Its intended beneficiaries?  EVERYONE!

Its best dosage?  DAILY!

Its cost?  FREE!

Its availability?  UNRESTRICTED!

Its overdose risk?  ZERO!

What’s not to like???   🙂

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe…”  (Hebrews 12:28)

How can we thank You enough, Lord?  Let us count the ways…and write them down… and tell You… and tell each other — in writing and in person…

Feeling better already…   🙂
