“I Love My Job!”

We were talking to a doctor friend of ours.  By Your Grace, Lord, he has saved more than one life in our family.  He looks way younger than his chronological years.  He smiles from the inside out.

That’s what he said when we noted how terrific he looks.  “I love my job!”

He doesn’t just know “his stuff.”  He’s certainly an expert in his field.  His head knowledge is equaled only by his surgical skills. But there’s more to him than all of his technical abilities.

It’s his heart.

He loves his job because he loves his patients.  And he loves what You, Lord, have enabled him to do for them.  Save their lives.  Improve the quality of their lives.  Bless their lives with his TLC.

He’s a great physician, Lord.  But You are THE Great Physician.  I can almost hear the same words coming out of Your mouth!

“I love My job!”

What is Your job, Lord?  Do enough words exist in any language to fully describe it???

You are the Life Creator!  The Destiny Giver!  The Dream Whisperer!  The Promise Keeper! The Love Magnet!  The Joy Explosion!  The Hope Igniter!  The Courage Builder!

You are the Invincible Shield!  The Victorious Warrior!  The Mighty Deliverer!  The Prince of Peace!  The Wise Ruler!  The Generous Provider!  The Thrilling Adventure!  The Safe Harbor!

You are the Doting Father!  The Lovesick Husband!  The Patient Teacher!  The Discerning Counselor!  And so much more!!!

“I will give thanks to You, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds.  I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing the praises of Your name, O Most High.”  (Psalm 9:1-2)

You do love Your “job”… don’t You, Lord?  Not only because of what You know (everything) and what You can do (anything).  But because of Your heart.

You love Your job because You love us.  All of us.  Those of us who know You.  Those of us who don’t… yet.  You love us with a “wild and crazy” love unequaled by anyone else who has ever walked the planet!

“God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8)

Thank You, Lord, for the blessing of our doctor friend.  It is such a comfort to know he is a great physician… and that we can put our trust in him.

And thank You, Lord, for the blessing of You!  The Great Everything… times infinity!!!

Trusting in You, the Most Trustworthy of All…
