High Without WiFi – Amazing P.S.!

I was “high” on You yesterday, Lord.  But I am higher still today!!!

This morning, we “scoped out” our friends’ cottage some thirty minutes away from our RV campground.  An isolated cottage in a vast pine forest… on a beautiful lake, down a driveway one kilometer long.  If silence could be “deafening,” we would both be without hearing tonight!   🙂

We decided we could navigate our trailer there (as they had hoped), to spend the next few days parked in their yard.  Though we would have no pump out facilities, we would at least have electric and water.  And, except for late-night emergency runs to the bathroom  — no pun intended! — we could use their comfy house for most of our bathroom and shower needs.

So we went back to the campground to pack and check out.  My JOYFUL new friend was staffing the office again, and was more than gracious to say there was “no rush.”  No one would be checking into our campsite today, so we could take our time and leave whenever we were ready.  So unlike other places we have been, where time is most assuredly “money.”

Thanks to Your Grace to me, Lord, I have always been our official “backer” — of boats, trailers, etc.  It is not a skill I ever anticipated needing or ever expected to practice; it is just another gift from You, Lord!  So I jumped into the truck to tackle our latest departure.  I had to back our 35-foot trailer out of our tree-lined site approximately sixty feet.  (Without hitting any trees, of course!)

As I climbed into the truck, I overheard some nearby, permanent park residents — all men.  They couldn’t believe I (a woman) could accomplish this feat.  So, they all pulled up chairs and sat in a row to watch the “fun”… expecting me to fail.

“… His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.  I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him.”  (Lamentations 3:22b-24)

So I did (wait for You).  And You were (my portion).  Your compassions did not fail!  And, thanks to You, neither did I!  I waved goodbye as we drove by, but they were too stunned to wave back.   🙂

But then came The Best Part — saying goodbye to Ms SUNSHINE.

I walked into her office to thank her for her hospitality and to give her one more hug.  She jumped up and came to hug me, too… with enthusiasm.  After we exchanged well wishes for each other, I asked:  “Could I ask you a question?”  She said, “Sure.”

I said, “You are full of such JOY.  Are you a Christian?”  She answered, with an even bigger smile (if that was possible):  “YES, I AM!!!”  We hugged, yet again… even harder this time!

“And He has given us this command:  Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.”  (1 John 4:21)  “… love one another deeply from the heart.”  (1 Peter 1:22b)

I told her about last night’s blog post, and how You had stirred my heart with the possibility that she is part of my Forever Family.  Now I know for sure!  And we have a “date” someday in Heaven!  Want to join us, Lord?  You are the One responsible for all this!

Thank You, Abba, for this divine connection with my newly-found sister-in-Christ!  Bless her with a double-portion of all that is most precious to You… for shining Your Light so brightly, and for acknowledging You as her own!!!

With JOY overflowing… AGAIN!
