Heavenly Logic

Things supernatural just can’t BE.  Can they?

Not if we’re logical.  Clear, sound reasoning should be the lens through which we “order” the world.  Shouldn’t it?

But what about those “things” that don’t fit into my earthly Logic Box?  Or maybe everything is logical… just in a different way.

Even the supernatural.

Like coincidence.  Which is really You, Lord, choosing to remain anonymous.  God-incidence.

What could be more logical?

I was with a very logical person recently.  A person who has spent a lifetime basing knowledge and understanding on what her senses could observe.  Seeking “logical” explanations for what she could see, hear, smell, taste and touch.

But what about when Logic defies logic?

Our conversation turned to You, Lord.  Funny how that just seems to “happen”…   🙂

I recounted how You had come after me when I was in my mid-thirties.  In ways that were so real and personal they were unmistakable and irresistible.  She said those words that any Ambassador of Yours loves to hear:  “Tell me more.”

So I did!   🙂

A divine “heart prompting” that changed the course of an otherwise ordinary day, resulting in a priceless blessing.  Words of direction whispered into my thoughts that became reality. In ways that were impossible to explain with my earthly logic.

Ways that only made sense when explained with Heavenly Logic.

Isn’t it logical, Lord, that You would provide Living Water to quench the soul-thirst of one stranded in Life’s wildernesses?  Or serve Spiritual Manna to someone who is starved for the nourishment only You can give?

“I am the Bread of Life.  Whoever comes to Me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty.”  (John 6:35)

Isn’t it logical that You would do such things because You are the Lover of our souls?  Who loves us like no other every can or will?

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”  (Jeremiah 31:3)   SO…  “God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8)

BECAUSE…

“… the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”  (Matthew 20:28)

My new friend is hungry for more of Your Heavenly Logic, Lord.  I could almost see her soul salivate as I spoke the words You gave me to share.  Maybe that’s why she asked to spend more time together.  On a regular basis.

So we will.

Gathering at the Table with You, Jesus… the Lord of the Universe.  To feast on whatever You will serve us.  You have invited us, after all.  In ways that are unmistakable and irresistible.

It’s only logical that we would accept Your invitation.  Isn’t it?   🙂

Expectantly,

Abba’s Girl
