Hatred Is A Poison

I don’t understand it, Lord.

Certain people — coalescing into a movement — are advocating loudly that certain lives matter more than others.  They are accusing law enforcement of pervasive and deadly actions borne of systemic racism.

Yet the facts do not support their claims.

The lives they claim to represent do matter.  But the position of this “movement” — and the solution(s) it fosters — are faulty at their core.  Because they are not based on Facts. They are based on an Ideological Agenda.

Hatred is a poison we drink, hoping someone else will die.   And sometimes, they do.

The symptom of the problem is lawlessness.  The problem itself is lawlessness.  The solution being advocated is lawlessness, too.

Why am I not surprised?

“For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work…”  (2 Thessalonians 2:7)

What better way to destabilize a society than to undermine trust in its system of law and order?  What better way to accomplish this than to saturate (and shape) public consciousness through a media barrage of half-truths and non-truths?

And to squelch any disagreement with fierce intimidation?

“[The devil] was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him.  When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”  (John 8:44)

How is such a strategy resisted, Lord?  How is it overcome?

“If you hold to My teaching, you are really My disciples.  Then you will know The Truth, and The Truth will set you free.”  (John 8:31)

“What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.  Do not be afraid…”  (Matthew 10:27-28)

Thank You, Lord, for prompting Heather MacDonald, at the Manhattan Institute, to write the very sobering article entitled, The Danger of the “Black Lives Matter” Movement. http://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/the-danger-of-the-black-lives-matter-movement/

It’s amazing the difference a few facts can make in helping us gain perspective.  Truth, like light, can penetrate the darkness of any deception.  IF we seek it.  IF we let it.  IF we tell it.

And there’s only one antidote to hatred — You, Lord.  IF we seek You.  IF we let You.  IF we take You into our hearts.

Praying for Your favor and grace, Lord…

… for all seek and tell The Truth…

… and for those still trapped in lies…
