Happy Birthday to… Who?!

I was so JOY-FULL, Lord, tears streamed down my cheeks. I felt like dancing!

I could hardly wait to sing “Happy Birthday” to this dear brother. On this most precious Birthday. The celebration had been going on for a whole hour before I finally got in on the action.

It happened this morning. At church. Our sister church, actually. A few miles up the road.

His wife had been a faithful member there for many years. And a faithful pray-er. For her husband, who had never come to church with her before.

This morning, to everyone’s shock, there he was.

His wife approached the pastor before the service. Could he possibly have an Altar Call at the end? (In a church that had never has an Altar Call?). She said her husband wanted prayer.

The pastor agreed, not knowing what to expect.

The end of the service came… and so did the husband. Up to the altar, asking for prayer. For help, actually… in praying to receive You, Lord, as His Savior!

The pastor was blessed beyond words! Well, almost…  🙂

Maybe his sermon and/or the Scriptures he used and/or the hymns they sang had special relevance to this husband. But clearly, You had been doing business with him long before he walked in the doors today.

“‘In the time of My favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.’ I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”  (2 Corinthians 6:2)

I don’t know this new brother’s testimony. Nor any of his history. I have never met him.

Nor have I ever met his wife. I only know he is now my Forever Brother. And when I heard the news of his Spiritual Birthday, I couldn’t wait to join the celebration in heaven!

“I tell you there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”  (Luke 15:7) “I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”  (Luke 15:10)

Your Gift of Life is so precious, Lord!

The natural life You breathe into us as we first come out of our mother’s womb and into the world. And the Eternal Life You breathe into us as we open the door of our hearts to You, now and forever!

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with Me.”  (Revelation 3:20)

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.”  (John 5:24)

Happy Birthday to… Who, Lord?

You’ve known his name since before he was born. You have called Him to be Yours… and he has said, YES! On Sunday of all days.

Son-day, indeed!

Celebrating still…  🙂  🙂  🙂
