Explaining… the Inexplicable?

How do You do it, Lord?  Show me something in a given moment… and explain it to me in the very next moment?

“Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”  (Jeremiah 33:3)

I had just posted my blog the other day.  About how our circumstances can sometimes encourage us to retreat or give up altogether.  About how we can’t always believe what we see.  We must believe what we know… and then walk by faith until our circumstances catch up with You, Lord.

I had just posted the blog when our phone rang.  An automated emergency call about a dangerous storm fast-approaching our area.  “Take immediate precautions for your safety.”  I went outside to alert my husband.  We closed everything up and headed back across the yard.

Why did I look up, Lord?  Because You wanted me to see something.  A dead tree on the mountain just behind our house.  At its top were two large vultures… surveying the territory.  My spiritual antennae went on “alert.”

I came back inside.  I could hear distant thunder rumbling louder with each passing minute.  I checked my email once more before closing down my computer.

To avoid a power surge.

Instead, what I saw shot a Power Surge through my spirit!

A Vision and a Word from You, Lord… sent to me in an email by a dear sister-in-Christ many states away.

A Vision of a large vulture… looking up and around as if keeping an eye on things.

A Word of Warning… to wear the armor You have given us, Lord, so we will be prepared for, protected from, and empowered in what lies ahead.  Because we are the enemy’s targets… if we belong to You.

A Word of Encouragement… to not worry, because we are Your Children.  And You will always always with us, always helping us… in the storm that is surely coming!

A Word of Exhortation… to leave busyness and temporal things behind.  And make ourselves ready for Your orders.  So we can arise and go forth… because The Time is closer than ever before!

The blog… the phone call… the tree… the gathering storm… the email.  All perfectly in sync.  All in the span of minutes.  Inexplicable… but for You, Lord.

The One who calls and directs and convicts and rebukes and comforts and heals and encourages and strengthens… so much more.  For Your glory… and our blessing!

“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”  (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22)

All ears,

Abba’s Girl
