Don’t Fake It… FAITH It! (Part 2)

Part 1 of this post recounts that famous motto, “Fake it until you make it.” And the spiritual seeking of one son who has become embroiled in a cult… transforming him into someone his own family doesn’t recognize. His voice and his countenance have changed… as if he has become a different person.

What does one have to do with the other? Everything. Because Ignorance can be Bliss… but not always. As You had me write in my book, Victory in The Valley: “What you don’t know can hurt you. If might even kill you.”

On one hand, it’s about this father’s son. In his searching, he has bowed before some very dangerous altars. The father gave me some of their names. I checked out their websites. The language sounds so appealing… at least, for anyone without spiritual discernment. Who doesn’t know Truth… so they eagerly, ignorantly, believe Lies.

“[The devil] was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)

The result is disastrous. “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy…” (John 10:10)

The choices we make — even those we make unwittingly — are not without consequence. When we bow our knee to any altar other than Yours, Lord, we are certainly bowing to another power — just not a higher one.

“… for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness…” (2 Corinthians 11:14)

This son’s father is new in his walk with You, Lord. There is so much he doesn’t yet know or understand…

The same is true for me. 🙂  But You and I have spent much more time together, Lord… and You have taught me so much through Your Word, which I have read — devoured — cover-to-cover many times. Although I have so much yet to learn, I have learned so much that gives me HOPE and TRUST… in You, Lord — in Your heart and Your ways.

Like Your love for this father’s son, even though he has wandered far from You. How You don’t want him to be lost to You. How You will hound him… in love. His father knows this with his head, BUT… says his son isn’t in his right mind… isn’t capable of choosing You, Lord. Not now, while he is so trapped

So You gave me words of FAITH for this father.

Acknowledging Your Power, Lord… and the power of praying to You, the only true Higher Power. Whose Power is greater than any other! Who can deliver one man possessed by a legion of demons (6,000?!) [Mark 5:1-17]… heal the long-suffering, and literally raise the dead to life! [Mark 5:21-42]

Inviting this father to FAITH it… until he makes it. Regardless of what his son may choose. Wearing his knees out in prayer… HOPE-FULL that his son will choose You, Lord…

… as am I.

Expectantly,

Abba’s Girl
