Contagious In A Good Way

Like a Ton of Bricks.

That’s how this cold hit me.  I can’t remember the last time I had a cold of any sort… much less, a “Cold of colds” like this one.

Just days ago, I was in a meeting with dear brothers and sisters in Christ.  Some of whom I hadn’t seen in months.  Others, I was meeting for the first time.

I’m a hugger at heart.  It’s how You wired me, Lord.  That’s what Family does… isn’t it? When I saw a brother who is particularly close to my heart, I went to hug him.  Then he opened his mouth… and I wished I hadn’t been quite so quick to hug.

He had his own version of this “Cold of colds.”  Now, just three days later, I realize he was contagious.  Oh well… a Family hug is always worth it!  Amen?   🙂

I wish other things were just as contagious, Lord.  Contagious in a good way.

As easily passed on to others as these germs.  More readily welcomed by others.  Without any emotional or spiritual “immune systems” primed to fight them off.  Things like…

… the certainty of Your Unfailing Love.

… the joy of Your Unmerited Grace.

… the confidence in Your Irrevocable Promises.

… the surrender to Your Delivering Power.

… the trust in Your Incomparable Wisdom.

… the dependence on Your Faithful Provision.

… the peace of Your Ever-present Help.

… and so much more!

If only such things were contagious, Lord!  Contagious in a good way.

I’m under that “ton” of bricks right now.  Coughing, sneezing and sleeping my way through this “Cold of colds.”  Rejoicing at its Silver Lining — lots of time to soak in Your Presence.

Because You are THE Great Physician.  And You make house calls.  Always prescribing the very best “medicines” to boost my eternal immunity.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

“… and by His wounds we are healed.”  (Isaiah 53:5)

Gratefully mended…

… and ever on the mend,

Abba’s Girl
