Confessions of A…

Wow, Lord… I could finish that sentence in so many ways!  For the many things I have done and been over a lifetime that were missteps. Whenever I was off track.  And so much worse.

“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not His benefits — who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion…” (Psalm 103:2-4)

I hadn’t imagined the way You would finish this sentence for me this morning.  On the way to church. You spoke it… and right away, I knew.

It’s the title of another “Signature Speech.”

What is a Signature Speech anyway?  It’s a speech that comes out of my own Voice.  A Voice that is so much my own, it has my “signature” on it.

To the World, from Diana… with love.

When it’s actually…  To the World, through Diana.  From Christ, with love.

We all have them… don’t we, Lord?  “Signature speeches” that spring forth from our journeys through Life.  Our journeys full of one-of-a-kind stories.  Stories of drama and Beauty.  Stories before (and since) You came into our lives.

Stories of heartache and Healing.  Stories of darkness and Deliverance.  Stories of flailing and Freedom.

I have spent a lot of time lately asking You for my next steps, Lord.  Listening for Your answer.  Straining in the silence.

Delighting in the clarity!  Hearing new music!  As I step up to the microphone You have fashioned for me… so I can sing Your praises!

“Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  (Ephesians 5:19-20)

Always giving thanks for everything.  Everything I have ever needed to confess to You, Lord. Because Confession is always preceded by Conviction.  Which provokes Repentance.  Which leads to…

Life-transforming God-encounters!  Encounters of… Forgiveness.  Healing.  Freedom.  And Witness.  Because Confessions (and all that follows them) become Signature Speeches.  Spoken in our own Voice.

So You can use us, Lord, to change the world!

To the World, from Diana… with love.

To the World, through Diana.  From Christ, with love.

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  (Acts 1:8)

Eager to speak, Lord… if You will give me the words!
