Friends and Followers… This is not a joke… it’s a TEST! As for jokes… Many of you know I used to be known at McCormick & Company as “The Chicken Lady.” Let’s hope, in this case, you won’t be able to say: “The yoke’s on you.” [Ugh. I was at the Southwest Florida Reading Festival in Ft. Myers, Florida yesterday. A “big deal” annual event drawing 20,000 people. I hadn’t known it even existed before about ten days ago. Until You invited me, Lord. Because You had arranged three Divine Appointments there for me. I only knew in advance about the first one. I had been invited to the Festival by our local Books-a-Million GM, to meet their District Manager. Stranded?!

It’s beautiful, Lord. An old house, nestled on a lush green acre of land… with a privacy fence in the yard full of trees and Ivy.   In the heart of the city… But it seems like we’re out in the boonies. The perfect place for our Second Annual college suitemate reunion! Only one drawback.   No Wi-Fi…  and spotty cell phone service.   I just found a corner in my bedroom with enough cell service to type these few words.   Not a great option. Fish On!!!

Ninety-one degrees in the shade.  Shade fleeting, but welcome, under the bimini of our Mako 17.  Sweat dripping off me… everywhere. My tenth fish slipping happily back into the Rappahannock River, freed from my hook.  Because, truth be told, it was too small… and, besides, the cooler was already too full of my “keepers.” Happy Anniversary to me!  🙂 Some might not call it a very romantic way to spent our anniversary, but to me… it was heavenly.  I don’t know which was my favorite part, Lord.  Discovering a new part of Virginia, along a stretch of wild river where we didn’t see another human being all day?  The “Midas Touch”… Read more »
