Butts and Beverages

What were we thinking, Lord???

A gravel path.  Full of mud holes.  Bumpy and squishy.

An isolated path… next to the C & O Canal.  Sun-speckled trees.  The mighty Potomac River with dangerous currents.  Eighty-foot dropoffs, straight down.

Sore butts.  Sore thighs.  Sore shoulders.  Sore backs.  Sore feet.

And no wonder!  How else would our very first 35-mile bike ride feel???

It quickly became evident we had two priorities:  Butts and Beverages.

How much padding does a 65-year-old butt need on a 35-mile ride?

MORE THAN WE HAD!   🙂

“Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me, Lord, be my help.”  (Psalm 30:10)

How much water does a 75-year-old “sweat machine” need to rehydrate on a six-hour ride?

MORE THAN WE HAD!   🙂

“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.”  (Isaiah 12:3)

Oh, Lord… What an AWESOME ADVENTURE!!!

No “butts” about it!

🙂   🙂   🙂

Deliciously exhausted,

Abba’s Gitl
