Breaking THE BEST Bread Together!

It’s been awhile, Lord.

Not since we last communed.  Wasn’t that just one second ago?

Not since I last wrote my heart to You.  Wasn’t that just earlier today?

Just since I have posted here.  How time FLIES when… whenever!

That book You assigned to me five years ago is almost finished.  I have written the words You gave me. Start to Finish.  It’s in my coach’s hands now… for her Spirit-directed feedback.  We’re both waiting on You, Lord… to speak whatever final edits You want to make.

Meanwhile… I was out and about today.  A refreshing change, since I have been mostly glued to my computer for days on end… writing away.  We stopped at our favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Arriving early.  Beating the lunch crowd.

Of all the empty tables, we were seated right next to two Sheriff’s deputies.  They were stopping for a quick bite before hitting the streets again.

My Honey went to the restroom.  I was looking at the menu, when suddenly… You spoke to me.  So I spoke… to those deputies.

“Has anyone thanked you yet today for your service?”  One answered quickly:  “Yes.”  Adding, after a brief pause:  “You.”

Suddenly, the words bubbled out of me.  I know they were from You, Lord.  Words of thanks and encouragement.  In these days when their calling carries greatly increased risk — emotionally and physically.  Words of blessing… from Your heart to theirs.

I could tell… Your words hit their mark.  I could tell… by their faces.  A mixture of surprise… and gratitude.

The moment was over.  We ate our lunches and went our separate ways.  The food was delicious, as always.  But the nourishment?

You, Lord, serve only The Very Best… every time!

“I am the Bread of Life.  Whoever comes to Me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty.”  (John 6:35)

Hungry no more,

Abba’s Girl
