Bahamas, Here We Come!

The day has finally arrived!

I spent today traveling from Virginia to Florida.  Tomorrow, I board a charter plane for the Bahamas.  For the next eight days we will be ministering at Your pleasure, Lord… to the 200 children You are now assembling.

I can hardly wait!   🙂

Tonight, our team of 41 came together from Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia.  Tonight, after gathering at the church for dinner, we all dispersed to our respective host families.  I’m here at home, hosting myself.  🙂   Good thing, I might add!

Unlike a commercial airline, our charter plane operates strictly by weight.  Our body weight plus no more than 25 pounds of gear.  TOTAL.  Sounded like a lot… until I got on the scale.  YIKES!

I have spent the last hour jettisoning extra weight!

Searching our house for a duffle bag that would be lighter than my Travel Pro.  Finding empty travel-sized containers to hold a week’s supply of toothpaste, shampoo and the like.  Deciding I could wear just a few clothing items over and over again.

I am still one pound over my limit, Lord.  I can’t think of anything else to off-load.  I have decided to tell them to “dock” me one pound of food.  The fast would probably do me good!   🙂

One thing is certain:  I MUST take my Bible with me!  It would even out the scales, but it is worth more than its weight in GOLD!

“Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”  (Deuteronomy 8:3)

I don’t know what awaits us in terms of Internet connectivity.  I hear there may be WiFi, but it’s spotty… very slow and not reliable.  I hope to continue to post here every day, Lord.  I will journal like “crazy” even if I cannot post!  Because…

… by Your grace, Lord, I’m expecting my “connectivity” with You to be working just fine!   🙂

If all goes according to plan, I will be back stateside on Saturday, July 23.  Of course, You could change the plan… couldn’t You, Lord?

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord establishes his steps.”  (Proverbs 16:9)

I’m all Yours, Lord!   Lead the way!!!   🙂

Expectantly,

Abba’s Girl
